ICS Triplex  T8151B   Communication interface module 

The communication interface module T8151B, as shown in Figure 4-9, provides a series of communication services for the controller to minimize the communication load on the TMR processor. The module allows communication with other TRUSTED systems, engineer stations, and third-party devices. The module is user configurable and supports multiple communication media. The module has two Ethernet ports and four serial ports, which can be accessed by connecting to the back of the module using the T8153 communication interface adapter. Meanwhile, there is a diagnostic port on the front panel of the module that can be accessed.

The communication interface module can be installed in any single width slot in the controller rack or extender rack. But only the communication interface module installed in the controller rack supports horizontal communication.
The module has 10 connections available for Modbus (RTU) protocol, which are configured through an IP port (default is 2000) TCP/IP stack. The module has a connection for TOOLSET programming, which has a fixed IP port number of 6000. On port 502, the module also supports open Modbus TCP connections with up to 10 Micons.
The module receives dual+24VDC power from the rack backplane.
