EcoStruxure ™  Foxboro ™  The DCS Field Control Processor 280 (FCP280) is a distributed, optional fault-tolerant field installed controller module. FCP280 performs regulation, logic, timing, and sequence control together with the connected Foxboro DCS fieldbus module (FBM). It can also perform data collection, alarm detection, and notification. FCP280 is connected to the Foxboro DCS control network via a network adapter installed on the motherboard, using standard fiber optic or copper 100 Mbps Ethernet cables.

-Perform data collection, alarm detection, and notification
3- Supports up to 128 compact or standard 200 series FBMs, 128 100 series FBMs, or a combination of up to 128 100 series FBMs and 200 series FBMs without the need for a fieldbus communication module (up to 64 100 series FBMs are allowed per PIO bus/backplane port)
-Support expansion of fieldbus without the need for fieldbus expansion modules
5- Supports self hosting mode, even if the host workstation is not online, FCP280 can effectively control database startup. But it cannot edit control functions.

-Provide online image upgrade (OLUG) for fault-tolerant FCP280
-Perform Enhanced Online Image Upgrade (EOLUG) on fault-tolerant FCP280 during process runtime. This form of upgrade helps prevent any significant impact on local control processes.
-Provide CP overload protection and notify the operator when FCP280 performance reaches its limit
-LCD displays letter errors and real-time characters and status
-Connected to Foxboro DCS control network via standard fiber optic or copper 100 Mbps Ethernet cable - with sturdy and durable die cast aluminum casing, can be installed in non ventilated field cabinets - can work in G3 level harsh environments - CE certified, can be installed on site in cabinets - each fieldbus port on the standard FCP280 motherboard supports 2 Mbps or 268 Kbps HDLC fieldbus dedicated ports
-Using multifunctional control algorithms and various FBMs to provide control capabilities for various process applications
-Support time synchronization using optional external time from GPS satellites
-Use a soft beacon that can be configured through the buttons on the FCP280 panel
-The optional dual cable substrate can use separate cables for each "A" and "B" bus.
