High speed Ethernet communication: Supports Ethernet network transmission rates of 10Mbps or 100Mbps, enabling fast and stable data exchange with on-site devices, ensuring real-time and accurate data.
Multi device connectivity capability: By connecting to Ethernet switches or hubs, it can communicate with up to 64 on-site devices, meeting the needs of multi device connectivity in large-scale industrial automation systems.
Rich driver support: I/O software drivers can be downloaded from available protocol libraries, which can recognize and support multiple communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, etc., facilitating communication and integration with different types of third-party devices.
Massive DCI Block Connection: Up to 2000 Distributed Control Interface (DCI) blocks can be connected to enable extensive data exchange with Foxboro DCS control stations. It can access up to 2000 analog input/output values, or up to 64000 digital input/output values, or a combination of digital and analog values.
On site equipment data integration: Use Ethernet connection to integrate on-site equipment data into Foxboro DCS control database, facilitating centralized monitoring and management of the entire industrial process.

Data transmission and conversion: FBM232 establishes an Ethernet connection with field devices through the RJ-45 connector on the front-end, collects the required data from the devices, performs necessary conversions on the data according to the loaded driver program, converts it into DCI data types, such as analog input or output values, single digital input or output values, multiple (packaged) digital input or output values, etc., and then stores the converted data in the database for processing and display by Foxboro DCS system. At the same time, DCS system data can also be written to various devices.
Redundant communication path: The fieldbus communication module (FCM100Et or FCM100E) or the field control processor (FCP270 or FCP280) is connected to the redundant 2Mbps module fieldbus used by FBM. FBM232 can accept communication from any path of the redundant 2Mbps module fieldbus. When one path fails or is switched at the system level, the module will continue to communicate through the other active path of the redundant fieldbus to ensure continuity and reliability of communication.
