The FCP270 field control processor is a distributed, optional fault-tolerant field installed controller module manufactured by FOXBORO company. It performs regulation, logic, timing, and sequential control together with the connected fieldbus module (FBM), and can also perform data acquisition, alarm detection, and notification. The system is connected to the Foxboro Evo control network via standard fiber optic 100 Mbps Ethernet, providing strong support for industrial automation.

Fault tolerant operation: The unique patented fault tolerant operation of FCP270 greatly improves the reliability of the system. It consists of two parallel running modules connected to the Foxboro Evo control network via two Ethernet networks. In the event of hardware failure in either module, the controller can still operate continuously, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the system.

Durable casing: The FCP270 adopts a sturdy die cast aluminum casing, which can be installed in non ventilated on-site cabinets and can work in G3 level harsh environments. This design makes the system more durable and able to adapt to various harsh industrial environments.
Wide connectivity: FCP270 supports up to 32 200 series FBMs (including compact and standard), and supports up to 128 200 series FBMs through fieldbus expansion module 100 (FEM100). In addition, it also supports up to 64 100 series FBMs without the need for fieldbus communication modules.
Advanced communication: The system communicates with Foxboro Evo control network through standard fiber optic 100 Mbps Ethernet, achieving high-speed and reliable data transmission. At the same time, it also supports 2 Mbps or 268 Kbps HDLC fieldbus, as well as optional external time synchronization from GPS satellites.

Easy to maintain and upgrade: FCP270 allows for online image updates of fault-tolerant modules without shutting down the process, making system maintenance and upgrades more convenient.
